Village Links of Glen Ellyn will host the IHSA Class 2A Montini Regional on Wednesday, Sept. 30, bringing boys golf postseason play to the course at 485 Winchell Way.

Lombard's Montini Catholic is the host school for the regional, and the Broncos will have a home-course edge. Montini has used Village Links for regular-season matches during the 2026 season. Regional manager Eric Scott is overseeing the event.

Seven teams and one individual entry make up the field, according to the IHSA's official regional assignments. Joining Montini and Lemont are Fenton (Bensenville), Hinsdale South (Darien), Timothy Christian (Elmhurst), Elmwood Park and Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park), plus an individual entry from Ridgewood (Norridge).

Lemont brings a deep roster to the regional. Seniors Jack Simpson and Alex Tomala lead the group, joined by juniors Henry Markiewicz, Niko Giannakopoulos, Oscar Refness and Nathan Zdenovec, The Herald-News reported.

Lemont coach Justin Weidler told The Herald-News the team has built a solid core group this season. "Our top 6 golfers have been remarkably consistent this year, and we hope that can continue into the postseason," Weidler said.

Timothy Christian also has recent experience on the course. The Trojans shot a 305 at the Montini Invitational at Village Links earlier this season, finishing second in a 20-team field, according to the Elmhurst Beacon.

The postseason stretches across the Glenbard area on the same day. Glenbard South's boys golf team is assigned to the Class 2A Sandwich Regional at Sycamore Golf Club in Sycamore on Wednesday, Sept. 30, according to the IHSA.

Teams and individuals advancing from the Montini Regional move on to the Class 2A Deerfield Sectional at Deerfield Golf Club in Riverwoods on Monday, Oct. 5. The state finals are scheduled at Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University in Normal.
