Glen Ellyn has closed northbound Main Street between Oak and Maple streets for concrete repairs and sewer work.

The village announced the closure on Thursday, Sept. 24. Both directions were initially detoured. Southbound Main reopened later that day, but the northbound lane will stay closed for up to five days while concrete cures. That puts the latest possible reopening around Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Residents on the affected block and emergency vehicles will still have access, the village said.

A detour map was posted with the announcement, but specific alternate routes were not listed in the village's text notice. For reopening updates, check the village's Facebook page or @VillageofGE on X.
