The Lombard Fire Department will teach residents how to perform CPR, use a defibrillator and administer Narcan at a $25 training class on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The Heartsaver CPR session takes place at Fire Station 45, 50 E. St. Charles Road, according to a Village of Lombard announcement. The class starts at 9 a.m. and runs approximately three to four hours.
Only 10 spots are available.
The class covers CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) use, Narcan administration and how to respond to choking emergencies. No medical background is required. Participants will receive hands-on instruction, according to the village.
The session is open to the public with no residency or age restrictions.
The Nov. 14 session is the last in a CPR training program the department launched in February. The Village of Lombard announced the program on X in January, with the first class held Feb. 7 at the same station. The department's calendar page had listed the November date as tentative before the Oct. 20 announcement confirmed it.
During National EMS Week in May, the Village of Lombard said on X that the department responded to more than 8,200 calls in 2025, including more than 6,200 emergency medical calls.
Firefighter/Paramedic Kyle Straughn is the program contact. Residents with questions about the training can reach him at [email protected].
