Glenbard South's football team opens its 2026 season at home Friday, Aug. 21, against Bremen, headlining a packed athletic week as the Raiders settle into the new school year.

Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. The Raiders, coming off a 6-4 season and a Class 6A playoff berth in 2025, are chasing their 15th consecutive postseason appearance and 11th straight under head coach Ryan Crissey.

Glenbard South returns a loaded skill group led by senior quarterback Tommy Bauman, a three-year starter who threw for 1,106 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Junior running back Elijah Donahue rushed for 1,321 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2025 and is drawing recruiting interest from MAC schools and Kansas State. Junior receiver Anthony Baldauf, also a third-year starter, caught 25 passes for 357 yards and three scores.

"Having three-year starters at skill positions on offense is great, especially when one of them is our quarterback," Crissey told the Daily Herald in its Aug. 14 DuPage County season preview. "Tommy Bauman really developed into a field general last season. We will be putting a lot of stock in him."

Bremen (Midlothian) arrives in rebuild mode after going 1-8 overall and 1-5 in the South Suburban Conference last year, according to Shaw Local's season preview. The Braves return quarterback Kaeden Pettis, receiver Ryan Kennedy and running back Jatwan Hogan.

Beyond football, Glenbard South Athletics posted on X that multiple golf competitions and Blue White Night are all on tap this week. A fall sports parent meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. in the school theater.

As we reported Aug. 10, the Raiders' renovated gym is set to debut this fall. Volleyball, soccer and cross country are also in season.

Tickets for Friday's opener are available through GoFan at $5.99, and the game can be streamed on NFHS Network for $13.99.
