UPDATE: Lombard police locate missing teen

A 15-year-old Lombard boy who went missing Wednesday, Oct. 21, has been found safe.

The Lombard Police Department confirmed the news in a village update Thursday, Oct. 22, according to Shaw Local. Police had asked the public for help earlier that morning after the boy was last seen about 4 p.m. Wednesday in his home.

As we reported Thursday, the department issued a public appeal for information about the teen's whereabouts.

The village removed the teen's name and photograph from its Facebook post after he was located, citing his privacy.

"Lombard Police appreciate the public's assistance in sharing this post," the village's message read.

Details about where or how the boy was found were not included in the village's update.
