A 25-year-old Lombard man is being held in the DuPage County Jail after police arrested him on charges that he sexually assaulted and abused multiple underage girls he allegedly met through social media.
Adam Johnson, of the 2200 block of Highland Avenue, faces three counts of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony; six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony; and one count of possession of child sexual abuse material, a Class 3 felony, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.
Lombard Police Department officers arrested Johnson on July 27 after Judge Michael Burton issued a warrant on July 20. Johnson appeared in First Appearance Court on July 28, where Judge Joshua Dieden granted the state's motion to detain him pre-trial.
The investigation, conducted through the DuPage County Children's Advocacy Center, alleges Johnson targeted multiple underage girls on social media, arranged to meet them and engaged in sexual conduct with at least two minors at his Lombard apartment, according to Shaw Local.
Prosecutors allege Johnson sexually abused one victim, born in 2008, on multiple occasions between approximately Jan. 12, 2023, and Jan. 8, 2025, and sexually assaulted her on one occasion. A second victim, born in 2010, was allegedly sexually assaulted and abused on Feb. 15, 2025.
"The allegations against Mr. Johnson are extremely disturbing," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in an Aug. 10 news release. "The safety and well-being of our children remain my office's top priority, and anyone caught engaging in this type of conduct will quickly find themselves apprehended, charged and, if found guilty, facing a significant amount of time behind bars."
The investigation involved cooperation among the Lombard Police Department, Glen Ellyn Police Department, DuPage County Sheriff's Office and Kane County Sheriff's Office. Assistant State's Attorneys Jaclyn McAndrew and Heather Misura are prosecuting the case, which has been assigned to Judge Mia McPherson.

Johnson is presumed innocent. The charges are allegations and are not proof of guilt.
