Lombard firefighters will sell pink T-shirts on Saturday, Sept. 26, to raise money for cancer care at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, continuing a tradition that has generated more than $40,000 over 13 years.

The Lombard Fire Department and Firefighters Union Local 3009 are hosting the fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Babcock's Grove House, 101 W. St. Charles Road. Shirts cost $25 each and come in adult sizes S through XXL. Youth sizes are not available. Donations beyond shirt purchases will be accepted.

All proceeds go to the Bhorade Cancer Care Center, according to a Village of Lombard announcement. The fundraiser has sent $40,862 to the cancer center since 2014. Last year's event alone raised $6,000.

After the sale, Lombard firefighters and paramedics will have the option to wear the pink shirts on duty throughout October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
