The Lombard Farmers Market is offering local nonprofits a free way to get in front of neighbors this summer, with weekly spotlight tables available through the market's final day on Oct. 6.
The Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the market, pairs one nonprofit and one Chamber member business at a shared table each Tuesday. The setup gives organizations a chance to promote their mission, hand out information and meet residents face to face while shoppers browse the market's vendors. Space is first-come, first-served, and groups must sign up through the Chamber's online registration.
The market itself runs every Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. on South Park Avenue in downtown Lombard, between St. Charles Road and Michael McGwire Drive. It opened May 19 and continues weekly through Oct. 6.
Vendors have included fresh fruits and vegetables, breads and baked goods, honey, olive oil, flowers, herbs, coffee, tamales, empanadas, gelato and dog treats. Live music plays every week.
For vendors looking to join, the Chamber charges a $30 non-refundable application fee. A seasonal 10-by-10-foot booth (20 weeks) costs $200 for Chamber members or $250 for non-members. A double booth runs $450. Single-week spots are $30.
Sponsorship packages are also available, ranging from $250 for a weekly sponsor up to $2,250 for a presenting sponsor, depending on tier and Chamber membership status.
