Golfers and community supporters can help raise money for local charities at the 26th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Glendale Lakes Golf Club, 1550 President St. in Glendale Heights.
The event, organized by the Village of Glendale Heights under Village President Rebecca Giannelli, has raised more than $580,000 for local Glendale Heights charities over its 26-year history, according to Glendale Lakes Golf Club. All proceeds benefit Giving Glendale Heights Charity.
The field is capped at 144 golfers. Registration costs $175 per golfer or $700 for a foursome, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start, according to the Village of Glendale Heights. Spots are limited.
Businesses and residents who don't golf can still get involved. Sponsorship packages range from $150 for a Hole Sign up to $4,000 for a Platinum sponsorship. The village is also accepting raffle prize donations.
Intro to Golf Clinic returns
Back for its second year, the Intro to Golf Clinic offers beginners a low-pressure way to join the day. For $100 per player, participants get on-course instruction from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., a swag bag and access to the cocktail hour and dinner that follow.
The full afternoon schedule includes a cocktail hour and networking from 2:30 to 3 p.m., dinner from 3 to 4 p.m., awards, raffle drawings and check presentations at 4 p.m., and closing remarks from 4:45 to 5 p.m.
