Glenbard West's boys golf season ended Monday, Oct. 5, at Elgin Country Club, where the Hilltoppers shot a 318 and finished eighth at the Class 3A Burlington Sectional, according to results first reported by Shaw Local.

Only the top three teams advanced to the state tournament. Burlington Central won the sectional at 308, Geneva placed second at 310, and Lake Park grabbed the final qualifying spot at 311.

Glenbard West's 318 left the Hilltoppers seven strokes behind that third-place cut line. No Glenbard West golfer appeared among the individual state qualifiers listed in sectional results.

The Class 3A state tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Den at Fox Creek Golf Course in Bloomington. The Hilltoppers' season is over.
