Two Glen Ellyn products are suiting up for a top-five program this fall. Wide receiver Cam Williams, a Glenbard South graduate, and offensive lineman Chris Terek, a Glenbard West alum, are both on Notre Dame's 2026 fall football camp roster as the No. 5-ranked Fighting Irish opened preseason practices Tuesday, Aug. 4.
Williams and Terek each appeared in six games for Notre Dame during the 2025 season, and both enter 2026 looking to build on that experience with a team that went 10-2 last year under head coach Marcus Freeman.
Williams: Record-setter from Glenbard South
Williams, a 6-foot-2, 201-pound junior, left Glenbard South as the program's all-time leader in receptions (121), receiving yards (2,462) and touchdowns (54). He committed to the Irish in June 2022 and signed in December 2023.
His 2025 season brought limited but meaningful action: six game appearances and his first career catch, a six-yard reception, according to his Notre Dame roster page.
The opportunity ahead looks real. With Notre Dame's wide receiver room entering 2026 short on experience, according to an On3 preview published July 22, Williams could see a larger role when the Irish open against Wisconsin.
Terek: Playoff veteran from Glenbard West
Terek, a 6-foot-5, 321-pound senior, arrived at Notre Dame as a four-star recruit and Top 250 national prospect in the 2023 class. He committed in November 2022 after starring at Glenbard West.
The offensive guard has logged 158 career offensive snaps and 157 special teams snaps across two seasons, according to a Yahoo Sports profile. In 2025, he posted a career-high 80 offensive snaps across six games against Purdue, Arkansas, NC State, Navy, Syracuse and Stanford. He also played in all four College Football Playoff games in 2024.
Entering fall camp, Terek is positioned as a key depth piece at left guard behind starter Anthonie Knapp, according to an A to Z Sports preview.
Glenbard roots
The two represent different corners of the Glenbard District 87 footprint. Williams came through Glenbard South. Terek played at Glenbard West. Both are listed with Glen Ellyn as their hometown on Notre Dame's official roster.
Glenbard District 87 schools open Wednesday, Aug. 12, with high school preseason football already underway across the area. Notre Dame opens its season against Wisconsin, with Freeman's squad carrying a 43-12 record into his sixth year at the helm.
