The Glen Ellyn Park District's free Jazz in the Park series ends Wednesday, Sept. 9, with a "Pumpkin Spice"-themed concert at Lake Ellyn Park.
The 17-member Glen Ellyn Jazz Ensemble takes the stage from 7 to 9 p.m. at the park, 645 Lenox Road. Admission is free and open to all ages.
The park district promoted the show on X on Sunday, Sept. 6, calling it the final outdoor Jazz in the Park concert of the year and describing the evening as cozy, coffee-shop-style tunes with a "Pumpkin Spice" theme.
The Sept. 9 date was not part of the original schedule. A season preview published in June by Shaw Local listed three concerts: a June 17 opener at Lake Ellyn Park called "Twice is Nice," a July 15 show at Newton Park titled "Meet the Band" and an Aug. 19 closer at Maryknoll Park billed as "Opposites Attract." The park district has not said publicly whether the Sept. 9 show is a bonus date or a revised schedule.
The series rotates among Glen Ellyn parks each summer, with the ensemble performing family-friendly sets on select Wednesday evenings. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and a picnic dinner. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in Glen Ellyn parks.
Rain or severe weather would cancel the concert. The park district posts cancellation updates at gepark.org/hotline.
