Glen Ellyn's annual Halloween Festival and Parade steps off at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in downtown Glen Ellyn.
The Glenbard West Drumline will lead the march from Main Street and Crescent Boulevard, according to the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce. The route heads north on Forest Avenue, turns west on Pennsylvania Avenue and loops back to the Glenwood Station parking lot via Main Street, according to Patch. Staging begins at 9:30 a.m.
After the parade, the festival runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Kids can try Halloween-themed crafts and enter a costume contest with categories for children and pets. A Halloween juggler will roam downtown, according to the Downtown Glen Ellyn Alliance. Local businesses will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
The festival is separate from the Downtown Glen Ellyn Witches Walk, a ticketed, adults-only event on Thursday, Oct. 15.
