The Glen Ellyn Carnival rolls back into downtown for four days of rides, games and food starting Thursday, Aug. 20, giving Glenbard-area families one of the last big outings before school resumes.
The Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce is hosting the carnival at the Crescent/Glenwood Lot, 505 Crescent Blvd. The event runs through Sunday, Aug. 23.
Riders can choose from attractions including the Zipper, a Ferris Wheel, Giant Swings, Mini Helicopters and a fun house. Patch Glen Ellyn reported the lineup includes more than 15 rides; the Chamber's event page lists over 10 rides along with games and concessions.
Wristbands and tickets
Unlimited ride wristbands cost $30 per person per day. That price covers Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
A $35 prime-time wristband unlocks unlimited rides Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Individual ride tickets are also available onsite for those who prefer to pay as they go.

Same weekend: Festival of the Arts at Lake Ellyn
The carnival's Saturday and Sunday overlap with the 57th Annual Festival of the Arts at Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Rd. That free event runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days and features more than 80 artists, live music, food trucks and a children's painting area.
