Registration for the fall 2026 semester at College of DuPage remains open, with classes beginning Monday, Aug. 24, according to a COD announcement published Aug. 10.

For Glenbard-area residents in Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Carol Stream and Glendale Heights, the in-district tuition rate is $160 per credit hour. A full-time student taking 15 credit hours per semester would pay roughly $4,800 in tuition and fees for the 2026-27 academic year, according to COD's published cost-of-attendance figures.

That rate reflects a $4-per-credit-hour increase the COD Board of Trustees approved March 19. Board Chair Christine Fenne said in a March 20 college statement about the increase that "COD's total cost remains below the state average" and that the college "continues to be one of the most affordable and practical ways for students to reach their goals."

Five sessions, not just one

The semester isn't a single 16-week block. COD is offering five scheduling options: one 16-week session, two 12-week sessions and two 8-week sessions. The 16-week term begins Aug. 24. Start dates for the shorter sessions have not been published.

What's on offer

COD grants seven associate degrees and more than 170 certificate programs in career and technical fields. The college also runs more than 30 health-related programs, including nursing, dental hygiene, EMT, paramedic and surgical technology.

The Glen Ellyn main campus sits at 425 Fawell Blvd. COD also operates a center at 500 Kuhn Rd. in Carol Stream. Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, the college serves more than 28,000 students. It is the largest community college in Illinois.

How to register

Students can enroll online at cod.edu/registration, call the Office of Student Registration Services at (630) 942-2377, or email [email protected]. First-time credit students pay a non-refundable $20 admission fee, which is waived for District 502 residents 65 or older, veterans, or those with demonstrated financial need.

To qualify for the in-district rate, students must have lived within Community College District 502 for at least 30 days before the semester starts. Workers employed full-time within the district may also qualify even if they live outside it.

The deadline to register without a late-registration permit from an instructor is the first day of class: Monday, Aug. 24.
