Lombard's longest-running event for older adults hits a milestone this fall, and organizers want local businesses and nonprofits at the table.
The 20th Annual Lombard Senior Fair will take place Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lombard Park District's Madison Meadow Athletic Center. Admission is free for all seniors. The village is recruiting vendors to fill the hall with health screenings, community programs and resource booths.
"We encourage organizations to join us as we celebrate 20 years of connecting seniors with valuable services, programs and resources," Trustee Jessie Hammersmith, chair of the Community Relations Committee, said in a village announcement.
The fair draws a crowd each year for flu shots, blood pressure checks, hearing screenings and Secretary of State DMV services. Past editions have also caught the attention of neighboring institutions. At the Helen Plum Library's Oct. 21, 2025, board meeting, trustee Sue Wiggins noted she had attended last year's fair and suggested the library explore signing up residents for library cards at such outreach events.
How to apply
Organizations and businesses can apply at villageoflombard.org/seniorfair. The deadline is Friday, Sept. 11. Space is limited and assigned first-come, first-served, with priority going to vendors offering health and wellness services or senior-focused programs.
Nonprofit organizations and government agencies participate free. For-profit businesses pay a $100 vendor fee.
