Lombard residents can bag up as many leaves as they want and set them at the curb for free pickup starting Monday, Nov. 2.
The village's annual Free Fall Leaf Collection Program runs six weeks through Friday, Dec. 11, according to a Village of Lombard civic alert. No yard waste stickers are required for leaf bags during that window.
The rules are specific. Leaves must go in biodegradable paper yard waste bags, not cans. Bags can contain only leaves. Other yard waste, brush or debris mixed in will disqualify a bag from the free program. Residents should place bags at the curb on their regular Waste Management collection day.
Brush requires separate handling. It must be bundled with non-plastic twine and tagged with a yard waste sticker.
